It's been a difficult few years celebrating the holidays in isolation, but with the world slowly moving beyond the pandemic, it's nice to have the opportunity to entertain again. I'm still avoiding large gatherings, but I have started doing small two household dinner parties, and this is a delicious canape that I like to set out with drinks while I prepare dinner.
The contrast of the savory salmon with the rich cream cheese and crispy veggies makes for a single delicious bite that's sure to put a smile on everyone's face. I used some blanched green beans and cucumbers this time, but this works with almost any crunchy or crispy veggie that can be cut into long strips, like baby corn, carrots, jicama, or red bell peppers.
Smoked salmon tends to get soft and tear as it heats up, so I recommend leaving it in the fridge until you are ready to roll the rolls. Also, if your smoked salmon is sliced very thinly like mine, you may want to double up the sheets.
