    Nori Cream Pasta

December 1, 2021 by Marc Matsumoto 2 Comments

A dish of Nori Cream Pasta

If you've ever bought a pack of nori, I'm sure you've had at least a few sheets go stale before you were able to use it all. With this easy pasta recipe, you'll never have that problem again! Honestly, this is one of the best things I've cooked this year, and it's definitely going on regular rotation in our household.

It may sound a little crazy, but this nori cream pasta is such a good combo, and it comes together in the time it takes to boil a pot of pasta. All you really need is salt, nori, cream, and pasta. The lemon zest can be substituted for other citrus zest, yuzu kosho, wasabi, garlic, or really anything aromatic. As for the cheese, it adds more umami, but this is still delicious without it.

Simply gobsmacked at how tasty, simple and unique this concoction is. I remember 30 years ago being a fake food snob in Kyoto scoffing at Japanized versions of Italian food. Boy, was I an idiot! Glad I got religion =) Bravissimo, Marc!

Hahaha I was that fake food snob once! Food evolves as it moves around the world and this innovation through assimilation has created some of the greatest dishes known to man (tacos al pastor, ramen, chicken jalfrezi, karaage, the list is long). Glad you enjoyed this!

I started No Recipes back in 2007 as a place to share original dishes I'd created with friends. It's since evolved into something much bigger than I could have imagined, but as it grew, the focus shifted from inventing dishes to improving classics. In the spirit of how No Recipes began, I'm bringing back my weekly original recipes for all of my supporters and friends!
