Rice

Rice is the foundation of Japanese cuisine, so naturally I have many dishes including rice as an ingredient. In Japan, the word for meal, "gohan", literally means rice, and most Japanese  dishes are intended to be eaten with a bowl of plain rice. I've gotten pretty creative with the preparations here, but if you'd like more information about how to prepare Japanese rice, I have detailed instructions here.

I started No Recipes back in 2007 as a place to share original dishes I'd created with friends. It's since evolved into something much bigger than I could have imagined, but as it grew, the focus shifted from inventing dishes to improving classics.
