Korean Spicy Tuna Bowl (Chamchi Deopbap)

Ingredients 

  • 140 grams canned tuna in oil lightly drained
  • 120 grams kimchi (½ packed cup), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • salt to taste
  • 3 servings rice
  • 1 scallion finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons gim jaban Korean nori flakes
  • 3 egg yolks optional

Instructions

  • Add 140 grams canned tuna in oil, 120 grams kimchi, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, and 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil to a bowl. Gently mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed (it should still be chunky). Taste and add salt if needed.
  • To assemble, divide 3 servings rice among 3 bowls. Top each bowl with ⅓ of the tuna mixture and garnish with 1 scallion.
  • Finish with 3 tablespoons gim jaban and, if you like, 3 egg yolks.
